Chris Tholstrup
Chris Tholstrup has over 20 years experience guiding management teams through periods of change including launching new products, raising money, or evaluating market opportunities, and in building the business structures and processes they need to achieve their potential. His particular expertise is in business planning, marketing strategy, and financing transactions including project finance and corporate VC.
He takes a hands-on approach balancing the need to get things done with creating long-term, executable, strategies. This gives him unique insight into the people as well as the technology that will drive success or failure so his advice is tested, trusted and ready to be executed upon. He is adaptable and creative, and brings the same finance-driven rigorous attention to detail to roles as diverse as developing marketing content and coaching business leaders.
Chris' experience in the last 10 years has focused on energy and cleantech (solar, energy efficiency, utilities, biofuels, and energy storage) but his experience includes online marketing, semiconductors, and industrial heat pumps. Chris started his career in PwC’s turnaround and restructuring practice in the UK and Europe where he focused on Distressed M&A and advising banks and private equity investors.
Chris has a BA from the University of Cambridge in the UK and an MBA from Chicago Booth. In his spare time Chris is a competitive sailor and triathlete with a passion for travel and good food. He also teaches Principles of Energy Finance at PG&E.
