Gary H. Wiseman
Dr. Gary H. Wiseman is an experienced business leader with a strong technical background in chemistry and materials science, and sales, marketing and general management experience in a variety of industrial markets. He has extensive experience working with a global customer base including China, Taiwan, Japan, UK, Germany, France, Italy and Scandanavia. His expertise also includes setting up and optimizing multi-national organizations and companies, raising venture capital funding and winning non-dilutive grants.
In 2011, Dr. Wiseman co-founded Brisbane Materials, an Australia-based supplier of efficiency-improving optical coatings to the LED, solar and display industries. He was the CEO of the company from its founding through 2019, and led funding efforts (venture capital and grants) totaling AUD $10M. Prior to founding Brisbane Materials, he was briefly the CEO of XeroCoat Inc., a leading supplier of anti-reflective coatings for solar and other applications.
From 2003 to 2008, Dr. Wiseman was the General Manager of Intel's Optical Platform Division, a leading manufacturer of high-speed optical transceivers for telecom and enterprise/datacom applications. He came to Intel via the acquisition of LightLogic, a VC-funded start-up company, where he was the Vice President of Marketing and Product Management.
Prior to his career at LightLogic and Intel, Dr. Wiseman spent 15 years in research, product development, operations, marketing and general management at Raychem Corporation (now part of Tyco Electronics) in Menlo Park, CA USA.
Dr. Wiseman holds a BA degree in Chemistry from Northwestern University, a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from MIT, and an MBA from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland. His academic expertise is in the fields of organo-silicon polymers, nano-ceramic synthesis, and ceramics processing.
