Sascha Berthold
Sascha Berthold has been working as a consultant and freelancer in the field of energy storage since 2022. He has more than 20 years of experience in energy storage technologies and their applications, with a focus on strategic consulting in the areas of business start-up and planning, business and product development, and mass production.
Prior to starting his own business, he spent seven years as Managing Director of Volterion GmbH & Co KG, a manufacturer of Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries and their key system component, the stack.
The company was founded in 2015 by Sascha Berthold and his colleagues, and he was responsible for the operational business and development as COO and CTO. The company was successfully sold to a strategic investor in 2019.
Sascha Berthold started his career at the Frauhofer Institut Umsicht, where he developed new business areas and activities and built up new departments and laboratories.
Sascha Berthold holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Energy Systems from the University of Kassel, Germany.
